If today’s words are ones you want to sit with again, you’ll find them here — just as they were spoken. Read them slowly. Return to them whenever you need.
Today, we’re not here to fix anything. We’re simply here to notice the moments you leave yourself… and practice something different.
Take a slow breath in. And let it go.
Allow yourself to settle into where you’re sitting. Feel the weight of your body being supported beneath you. Notice the chair… the floor… the air around you.
There’s nowhere you need to be. Nothing you need to solve. You’re safe here.
Now… bring to mind a moment when you left yourself. Maybe it was today. Maybe it was this week. A moment you ignored what you needed… said yes when you meant no… stayed quiet when something inside you wanted to speak… or walked away from your own truth.
Just let one moment come.
As you remember it… notice what happens inside your body. Where do you feel it? Your chest… your throat… your stomach… your shoulders…
You don’t have to change anything. Just notice.
Now gently ask yourself… What was I trying to protect?
Not what happened. Not what someone else did. What part of me was trying to stay safe?
Maybe you were protecting yourself from rejection. From disappointment. From conflict. From not being enough. Whatever comes… let it come. There’s nothing to force.
Now place one hand over your heart. Feel your own touch. Feel your own warmth. And stay. Don’t leave this time.
Notice the feeling underneath everything. You don’t have to name it. You don’t have to understand it. Nothing to fix. Nothing to change. Just stay.
Take a slow breath in… and imagine breathing love into the place that has been carrying this for so long.
As you breathe out… let go of the belief that you had to carry it alone.
Stay here. Notice something beautiful. The feeling is here… and so are you. You’re still breathing. You’re still safe. You’re still here.
Uncomfortable doesn’t mean dangerous. You can be uncomfortable… and completely safe at the same time.
Every time you stay… your body learns it’s safe. It learns… I don’t abandon myself anymore.
This… is how self-trust is rebuilt. Not through having the perfect answer. Not through never feeling fear. But by staying… one breath at a time. Again… and again… and again.
Feel your hand on your heart one more time. Notice that you’re the one holding yourself now. The version of you that once needed someone else to stay… has you.
Today… you came home to yourself. And every time you choose to stay… that home becomes a little stronger.
Take one final deep breath in. And slowly let it go. When you’re ready… gently open your eyes. There’s nothing you need to rush back to. Take this version of you with you. The one who stays.
You stayed today. With me… and maybe once on your own. However it went… you did something your nervous system may have never experienced before. You stayed.
Take one slow breath. There’s nothing else you need to do right now.
Today, you came home to yourself. Maybe only for a few breaths. But home isn’t measured by time. It’s measured by presence. And today… you were there.
